Job Description

Working/Functional Title Creative Writing:
Inst/Ast Professor Fixed Term Position Summary The Department of English is seeking a colleague with expertise in fiction writing to teach core courses in our Creative Writing Program, as well as general education offerings. Teaching responsibilities include three courses per semester to fill areas of department need. The successful applicant must be able to teach a multi-genre introductory creative writing course, workshops in fiction at the introductory and advanced levels, and a course in the history and theory of creative writing. Experience teaching in other genres, such as creative nonfiction or screenwriting, is highly desirable. We also welcome candidates with experience in arts programming and curation, literary editing and publishing, or creative writing pedagogy. Strong applicants should be committed to inclusive learning practices. This is a full-time fixed-term position,with a 3-3 teaching load, for a three year term, beginning August 16, 2026.
