Academic Job Description Summary:
Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery specializing in the area of Acute Care Surgery, which includes the treatment of trauma and surgical critical care patients. Incumbent will have an active clinical practice, teach residents and students rotating through Surgery, and participate in academic research. Faculty rank based on the applicant's experience and qualifications.
Job Description:
Job Duties Active clinical practice in the surgical treatment of diseases related to the services of this division. Participate as a member of the Acute Care Surgery Service in the Department of Surgery. Faculty appointment with the School of Medicine in the area of Surgery with an emphasis in Acute Care Surgery, Trauma Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care. Incumbent will teach medical students and residents in the classroom, clinic, and operating room. Participate in surgery related research, clinical trials, and clinical studies. Publish and present data at the regional and national levels. Serve on hospital, university, and departmental committees as assigned. Certification:
Board eligible or board certified in Surgery and Critical Care Surgery.
Work Experience:
Completion of a Trauma or Surgical Critical Care Fellowship. Preferred Qualifications
Work Experience:
One year experience in academic setting and research.
