Position Summary The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks a Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join 13 faculty and 5 advanced nurse practitioners in expanding the academic and clinical mission of the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology. The position is on the fixed-term track at the Clinical Assistant Professor rank. This is a full-time, clinical focused position. The ideal candidate will have completed pediatric GI subspecialty training and hold a valid, unrestricted license to practice medicine in North Carolina. Candidates will have demonstrated excellence in clinical care and teaching. Strong clinical and endoscopic skills are required. The selected candidate must have a strong interest in general pediatric gastroenterology. We encourage exceptional individuals interested in growing a clinical program in pediatric obesity and advancing our research, education, and advocacy missions to apply. The candidate will join a multidisciplinary team consisting of a pediatric endocrinologist, a pediatric bariatric surgeon, a dietitian, a licensed social worker, and policy advocates. The candidate will work collaboratively with existing weight management programs (Weight Management Services UNC Hospitals Chapel Hill, NC; UNC Weight Management Program at Family Medicine
  • UNC Weight Management Program) and research investigators at UNC and Duke. The practicing duties of this position will be held at the following locations: UNC Specialty Care at Sanford
  • 1301 Central Dr, Sanford, NC, 27330 (average of 2 days a week) UNC Children's Primary and Specialty Care at Carolina Pointe II
  • 6013 Farrington Road, Suite 201, Chapel Hill, NC, 27517 (average of 1.5 days a week) North Carolina Children's Hospital
  • 101 Manning Dr Ground Floor, Chapel Hill, NC, 27514 (average of 5-6 weeks on-call per year, 4 hours of Fellows Clinic every 6 weeks, and 4 hours of endoscopy time weekly) Minimum Education and Experience Requirements MD/DO or equivalent.
BC/BE in Pediatric Gastroenterology. Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Formal training in clinical informatics and pediatric obesity is desirable.
