Biblical Principles and Expectations:
Faculty help to further Malone's mission to provide students with an education based on biblicalfaith in order to develop men and women in intellectual maturity, wisdom, and Christian faith who are committed to serving the Church,community, and world. I. University Overview Affiliated with the Evangelical Friends-Eastern Region denomination,Malone strives to provide an education that produces graduates with a love of truth and a vibrant, mature faith. Our intent is that studentsattain the wisdom, knowledge, and skills necessary to serve, engage, and transform the communities in which they live and work. To this end,we provide the curricular and co-curricular context in which to pursue the following educational goals: Understand andcritically engage those bodies of knowledge and cultural influences that have shaped the world. Understand the biblical,historical, and theological foundations of the Christian faith. Think critically and creatively and communicate effectively inmultiple contexts. Attain expertise in at least one profession or academic discipline and lay the foundation for meaningful workor further studies at the graduate level. Explore the implications of the Christian faith for all areas of living, includingintellectual, spiritual, and community pursuits. II. University Expectations A personal commitment toJesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a church. In addition, all faculty must affirm Malone's Doctrinal Statement and agree to live in keeping with Malone's Community Agreement . A desire to work with adiverse community of students and employees who represent various cultures, backgrounds, abilities, ethnicities, political views, andexpressions of Christian faith. A commitment to integrating faith and learning within the academic discipline. Job Summary Malone University seeks an Assistant Professor of Sport Management to be the corefaculty member of the Sport Management program, which is housed in the Division of Business and Technologies. The division currently holds10 majors and 13 minors. Individuals with expertise in Sport Management are encouraged to apply. IV. Essential Duties andResponsibilities Essential duties, tasks and responsibilities: (The following duties are not to be considered a complete list ofduties and responsibilities assigned to this position.) The required teaching load is 24 credits per academic year. Faculty are encouraged to engage in experiential learning techniques inside and outside of the classroom. Designing/developingcurriculum in a way that stimulates student's minds and enhances their capacity to learn. Teach courses in the Sport Managementprogram and other related courses at the undergraduate level. Areas may include Business Management, Business Administration, Economics,and/or Marketing. Additional teaching assignments will be based on the area of expertise of the chosen candidate. Advising and mentoring undergraduate students. Cultivate and develop external relationships that facilitate opportunities forguest speaking, internships, post graduate work, and scholarships. Participate in professional associations that correlate withSport Management. Engage in scholarship and community service Serve on departmental & institutional committees University service is required appropriate to academic rank Supervising undergraduate research. Secure externalfunding for research and training projects, when applicable. V. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations Experience that validates a strong commitment to excellencein teaching, professional development, and scholarly research Demonstrated ability to work effectively in groups and to producehigh-quality work while working independently Commitment to the Christian faith and the university's mission, foundationalprinciples, and educational goals. Commitment to the integration of faith and learning in the academic discipline VI.Education and Experience Preferred Qualifications:
A master's degree in Sport Management or asubfield and a minimum of three (3) years full-time equivalent of tested experience in the discipline; or A master's degree in anydiscipline and a nationally-recognized credential (certification, license, etc.) for Sport Management and a minimum of three (3) yearsfull-time equivalent of tested experience in the discipline.Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor's degreein Sport Management or subfield and a minimum of three (3) years full-time equivalent of tested experience in the discipline. Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentoring, professional development and scholarly research Commitment to theChristian faith and a commitment to the integration of faith and learning in the academic discipline VII.
