Job Description:
Principal Faculty support the Program Director in ensuring all aspects of the Program meet the Standards of Accreditation set forth by the ARC-PA. Principal faculty also ensure curriculum is consistent with current practice standards as it relates to the PA role in providing patient care and Oklahoma State University policies. This position is a Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, non-tenure track. Responsibilities Administrative responsibilities, Assists in aligning programmatic operations with accreditation standards Participates in program evaluation and assessment activities Assists in reviewing and revising the program's mission, goals, and competencies Academic Responsibilities Evaluates student progress and performance at regular intervals Assures the availability of remedial instruction Provides academic counseling and advising to students Provides classroom and laboratory instruction Service, Participates in student recruitment and the admission review and selection process Advocates for the Program within the University, community clinical partners, as well as state and national organizations Serves on committees, both internal and external to the institution, as approved by the program director
Director of Assessment Description:
This position is considered Principal Faculty for the Physician Assistant Program. The Director of Assessment is responsible for establishing a robust, systematic process for program self-assessment, continuous improvement, and accreditation readiness.
Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain benchmarks for student acquisition of program-defined competencies. Design and administer benchmark examinations used for student promotion Develop evaluation frameworks and timelines, coordinate data collection, and ensure data quality and timely reporting Establish program performance benchmarks aligned with best practices and prior trends. Guide faculty through evaluation methods, interpretation of results, and use of findings for improvement. Act as Chair of the Assessment Committee Set agendas, drive analysis and conclusions, ensure minutes and evidence are archived. Deliver written summaries of committee findings and recommended actions; track adoption and follow-through. Required Qualifications Master's (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date) Clinical experience of two or more years working full-time as a physician assistant Certifications, Registrations, and/or
Licenses:
NCCPA certification Current State License preferably with current
DEA, OBNDD
license Preferred Qualifications Teaching experience, with an emphasis in PA education Certifications, Registrations, and/or
Licenses:
ACLS, BLS, PALS
certification Skills, Proficiencies, and/or
Knowledge:
Knowledge and understanding of PA program organization and administration Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills Leadership skills demonstrated by participation in local, regional or national PA programs Clinical Practice, recommended but not required Provide medical care within an OSU sponsored clinic Dedicated to serving as a PA student preceptor All positions are subject to the availability of funding, and any offers are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
