Job Summary The Department of Applied Economics and the Extension Agriculture and Natural Resources Program of the OSU College of Agricultural Sciences (CAS) invite applications for a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, fixed-term Assistant Professor of Practice position in the area of Agricultural Economics. Reappointment of this Applied Economist is at the discretion of the supervisory team which includes the CAS Agriculture and Natural Resources Program Leader, and the Head of the Department of Applied Economics. The faculty member will design, coordinate, implement, deliver, and evaluate multi-facetedmunity, farm and ranch Extension programs across Oregon counties. The individual may contribute to assessments of enterprise profitability and the impact of novel technologies or management strategies on financial or economic oues. Related priority areas include preparation of enterprise budgets of costs and returns for different activities. Other areas of responsibility may include economic impact analysis, farm financial management, guidance on crop insurance and other risk management alternatives, and farm labor management. The individual may also generate analysis in support of market development or process development efforts within the larger agricultural system or food supply chain. The faculty member will translate economic research and data into practical decision support tools, including Extension publications, economic impact analyses, briefs, presentations, and visual materials appropriate for diverse Extension audiences. The person in this position will work in close coordination with other extension faculty in AEC. The faculty member must demonstrate amitment to inclusive excellence through service or specific job duties, such as developing and presenting programs targeting underrepresented populations.
