350130 The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science in the School of Science and Engineering at Duquesne University invites applications for a non-tenure-track Visiting Assistant Professor position in computer science for the 2026/27 academic year, with preference given to candidates who can also teach undergraduate courses in related disciplines. The department offers undergraduate majors in computer science, data science, mathematics, and applied mathematics, as well as a Master's degree in computer science. The successful candidate will join twenty other full-time departmental faculty. The standard teaching load for NTT faculty is 12 credits per semester.
Qualifications:
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
M.S. degree and extensive applicable experience in computer science or a closely related discipline. A successful candidate who does not possess a Ph.D. will be hired as a Visiting Instructor of Computer Science. Teaching philosophy commensurate with Duquesne University's mission and values.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Ph.
D./A.B.D.
in computer science or a closely related discipline is preferred. Preference will be given to applicants who can teach a broad range of courses offered by the Mathematics and Computer Science Department, including mathematics and/or statistics. Preference will be given to the candidate with successful teaching experience at the university or college level. Alternately, the applicants may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University Community. Ability and willingness to contribute actively to the Mission of the University and to respect the Spiritan Catholic identity of Duquesne University.
