Job Description
The School of Architecture at Marywood University (MUSOA) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning Fall semester 2026. Successful candidates will have expertise in teaching design studios, advanced representation, and history/theory courses in the Architecture and Interiors. The School seeks collegial candidates committed to working across our deeply integrated professional programs of Architecture, Interior Architecture, Virtual Architecture, Construction Management, and Architectural Engineering. Founded by the Congregation of Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Marywood University educates students on a verdant, 115-acre campus in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Marywood is committed to fostering an accepting and open campus community welcoming to all. In doing so, Marywood prepares students to seek sustainable solutions for the common good and be global citizens who live responsibly in an interdependent world. The MUSOA inhabits a former gymnasium and natatorium as a laboratory for sustainable design and adaptive reuse. The School offers graduate and undergraduate programs in Architecture and Interior Architecture, and new undergraduate programs in Construction Management, Virtual Architecture and Architectural Engineering. Full-time faculty members are expected to embrace the University's and School's missions and core values in their teaching and service. Additionally, tenure-track faculty are expected to cultivate a productive scholarly agenda or creative practice.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in architecture, interior architecture/design, or a related field from an accredited institution. Demonstrated teaching effectiveness or strong potential for effective teachingPreferred Qualifications:
Relevant professional and/or teaching experience Professional certifications, registrations or licenses Doctoral degree in a related area of expertise Established scholarly, creative, or professional agenda and work Applications must be submitted electronically through the employment portal with the following: a letter of intent stating teaching and scholarly interests, CV, portfolio, and three references.
