This position will teach courses in Building Construction and Construction Management, which may include courses in materials and methods, construction technologies, mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems, , sustainable construction, , and construction contract law, consistent with current developments in the discipline and teaching methods. The incumbent will work with the Construction Management, Building Construction, Architecture, and Civil Technologies programs with a focus on continual improvement of programs and learning outcomes. Other duties include tutoring and advising students, mentoring and reviewing peers, and participation in curriculum/course development, program/department meetings, divisional/college-wide committees and College initiatives. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population and work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy. Teaching assignments may include daytime and/or evening hours. Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community. LCC policy requires all LCC employees to be residents of the State of Michigan and to perform all work (with limited exceptions) within the State of Michigan. Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years relevant experience in residential/light commercial construction field; OR Associate's Degree in a related field and four (4) years relevant experience in residential/light commercial construction field OR High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience in residential/light commercial construction field. Michigan Builders License.Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum two (2) years teaching experience in construction or closely related field. Certified OSHA 10-hour/30-hour instructor. Professional accreditation/certification as a LEED AP, PE, CPC, CxA, or other related credential. Experience in obtaining and managing private and public grants.IMPORTANT
