The Teaching Assistant or Associate Professor is a non-tenure track faculty appointment in the Department of Industrial Engineering. The job duties for this position will include all aspects of teaching graduate and undergraduate pre-requisite courses online, live, and hybrid modalities within the Engineering Management graduate program. Specific position duties for this position include designing courses as requested, providing curriculum material, constructing syllabi, leading class instruction, writing and administering exams, advising and evaluating students, serving on various faculty committees, serving on comprehensive examination panels and student-oriented committees, and exhibiting participation and leadership in related professional societies. Instruction may be from remote locations, at a satellite campus, or at the Fayetteville Campus. The Teaching Assistant or Associate Professor may teach executive education or workforce development courses. The employee will teach courses in the areas of engineering management that align with the department's emphasis in quantitative analysis. Examples include, but are not limited to, project management, systems engineering, engineering decision-making, quality, and operations management topics. This position will teach online courses and will work remotely in conjunction with the University of Arkansas Policy on Flexible Work Arrangements including Remote Work. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in engineering management, industrial engineering, operations management, operations research, statistics, data science, computer science, or another closely related field from an accredited institution of higher education conferred by the start of employment Excellent communication skills Demonstrated potential for teaching high-quality online courses, teaching a variety of graduate courses, and providing appropriate service to the department, university, and profession Expertise or teaching interest in areas related to engineering management, including but not limited to, project management, systems engineering, engineering decision-making, quality, and operations management At least five years of industry, consulting, military, or government experience in a related field Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusionAdditional Information:
