Open until filled Description The School of Journalism and Media at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a full-time, professional-track faculty member at the rank of assistant professor to begin in Fall 2026. The School is part of the top-ranked Moody College of Communication, which includes programs in Advertising & Public Relations, Communication and Leadership, Communication Studies, Radio-Television-Film, and Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. The School, which offers B.J., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees, is housed in the G.B. Dealey Center for New Media. We wish to hire an individual with strong skills in multimedia video, social video and/or visual journalism. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated expertise in visual journalism and multimedia storytelling across a range of modes and platforms. This hire will anchor the school's lower-division required course, J311: Reporting Images, participate with other faculty in curricular development in visual journalism, and support students in foundational and skills-based courses. Teaching experience at the university level is required.

http://moody.utexas.edu/ Qualifications Applicants must hold a master's degree in journalism or a related field or possess equivalent professional experience at the time of the appointment. Applicants must also have teaching experience at the university level. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud is preferred.
