Job TitleVisiting Assistant Professor of Art (Printmaking) Agency Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi Department School of Arts, Media, & Communication Proposed Minimum SalaryCommensurate Job LocationCorpus Christi, Texas Job TypeFaculty Job Description The Department of Art & Design at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Art in Printmaking beginning Fall 2026. This is a nine-month, full-time appointment to replace a faculty line during their faculty development leave for the 2026-2027 academic year. We seek a collaborative artist-educator with demonstrated expertise in print media, an active exhibition record, successful college-level teaching experience, and a commitment to teaching excellence and engagement within a supportive academic community. TAMU-CC is designated by the Carnegie Commission of Higher Education as an "R2 Doctoral University-High Research Activity," as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) and a Minority-Serving Institution (MSI). Situated on the Coastal Bend, our campus is part of a dynamic arts scene that encompasses the urban centers of Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, and the Rio Grande Valley. The Department of Art & Design is dedicated to cross-disciplinary, collaborative initiatives, enriching our community, and mentoring students to be professionally-driven artists, designers, scholars, and creative leaders. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate printmaking courses and foundations; participating in departmental meetings, graduate seminars, and BFA/MFA reviews; and contributing to the intellectual and creative life of the department. The successful candidate will oversee a vibrant, communal, and highly active printmaking area and provide supervision and mentorship to graduate teaching assistants. The teaching load is three studio courses in the fall and spring semesters.
Required Qualifications:
MFA in Printmaking with demonstrated expertise in Lithography, Intaglio, Relief, and Screenprint Active exhibition record Successful university or college-level teaching experience Knowledge of current safety and health standards in Printmaking studios Experience collaborating in a team-oriented work environment Commitment to engagement with the broader University and Corpus Christi communityPreferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated teaching experience in at least one of the following: digital media, hybrid-methods, installation, and/or interdisciplinary applications Experience teaching, mentoring, and providing leadership to graduate students in Printmaking Knowledge of trends and demonstrable expertise in the history, theory, and contemporary field of Printmaking Ability to teach 2D foundations, including Drawing, Design, and/or Color TheoryTO APPLY
