Job Description
Under supervision of Dr. Nader Pouratian, this position will lead projects that aims to explore the pathophysiology underlying the motor symptoms of Parkinson disease (PD) and the therapeutic effects on it. Specifically, it focus on the network-level alterations of oscillatory activities within basal-ganglia cortical circuits in PD and their restorations by deep brain stimulation (DBS) and dopaminergic medicine therapies. To this end, the position will be deeply involved in designing, organizing, and conducting highly specialized and advanced experiments for intraoperative recordings from PD patients undergoing DBS implantation surgery as well as for non-invasive whole-brain recordings by using magnetoencephalography (MEG). They will also analyze the recorded data with advanced signal processing techniques, summarizes and interprets findings, and publishes those in research journals.
Qualification:
PhD or MD degree.
