Summary The Department of Medicine, Section of Hematology & Oncology at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM), in partnership with Harris Health System, is seeking a full-time Hematology faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher. This position is primarily based at Harris Health facilities and will support the care of a diverse, medically complex patient population. The successful candidate will provide high quality inpatient and outpatient hematology care, participate in multidisciplinary care models, and contribute to the educational mission of BCM through teaching of residents, fellows, and medical students. Opportunities exist for participation in quality improvement, clinical research, and program development within a safety net health system. Job Duties Provide comprehensive hematology care in inpatient and outpatient settings at Harris Health facilities, including Ben Taub Hospital and Smith Clinic. Participate in inpatient consult services and outpatient hematology clinics, with clinical effort aligned to programmatic and operational needs. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics, and other specialties serving Harris Health patients. Teach and supervise medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical settings. Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and population health initiatives relevant to hematologic disorders. Engage in scholarly activity as appropriate to rank, including clinical research, translational work, or educational scholarship. Participate in call coverage and service responsibilities consistent with Harris Health clinical operations. Minimum Qualifications MD or MD/PhD degree. Board certified or board eligible in Hematology (Internal Medicine certification required). Eligible for an unrestricted Texas medical license and DEA registration. Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence, education, and care of underserved populations. Interest or experience in clinical research, quality improvement, or program development preferred but not required. Spanish language proficiency is a plus but not required. Academic Environment The faculty member will hold an academic appointment at Baylor College of Medicine and will work closely with colleagues across the Section of Hematology & Oncology and affiliated institutions.
