About the Department The Liberal Arts College at Woosong University offers a broad range of courses designed to foster well-rounded, globally competent graduates. Through education in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, arts, and global communication, the College emphasizes critical thinking, creativity, effective communication, and character development. The program equips students with essential skills needed to succeed in an increasingly interconnected and rapidly changing global society. Responsibilities The successful candidate will be expected to: Teach 20 credit hours per semester . Provide academic advising, support student clubs, serve on academic committees, and participate in professional development activities. Hold four (4) office hours per week and perform other administrative duties as required. Undertake overseas assignments at a partner institution affiliated with Woosong University (e.g., Kazakhstan, China) on a six-month rotational basis, as part of the University's international exchange and cooperation programs. Required Qualifications A Master's degree or higher in English Education or a closely related field with a minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience , OR A Doctoral degree in a relevant field (teaching experience not required).
Additional notes regarding teaching experience:
Teaching experience may be recognized both before and after completion of graduate studies; however, experience obtained during enrollment in a degree program will not be counted. Acceptable teaching experience includes university-level or corporate-level instruction . Teaching experience at private language academies will not be recognized. Licensed primary or secondary school teaching experience will be recognized. Applicants from countries where English is not the native language (based on passport nationality) are required to submit a TESOL certificate . Applicants holding passports from the following native-English-speaking countries are exempt from this requirement: United States United Kingdom Canada Australia New Zealand Ireland South Africa Preferred Qualifications Strong preference will be given to candidates with licensed primary or secondary school teaching experience. Teaching Areas (may include) English for World Citizenship II Academic Reading & Writing Global English Communication (Final course assignments will be determined by departmental needs.)
Compensation and Benefits Housing:
Faculty housing may be provided, subject to availability.
Relocation Support:
One-way economy-class airfare reimbursement up to
KRW 500,000
for faculty hired from outside the Republic of Korea.
Settlement Allowance:
A settlement allowance of
KRW 40,000
per day will be provided for early arrival prior to the commencement date, for up to seven (7) days.
Vacation:
Thirty (30) paid working days of annual leave per year.
Insurance & Pension:
Enrollment in the Korean National Health Insurance and the Private School Teachers' Pension.
Research Funding:

Overseas Assignment Incentives:

upon completion of a six-month overseas exchange assignment. Additional points awarded toward faculty performance evaluations.
