POSITION SUMMARY
The Chemistry department in the Faculty of Arts & Sciences at Willamette University welcomes applications for an appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Instructor of Chemistry, to begin in August 2026. This is a one-year position, although renewals are possible for up to three years. We seek a colleague with deep enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching in the context of a small, private, academically rigorous liberal arts college. The successful candidate will teach a total of 6 classes, comprised of a mixture of General, Organic, and Biochemistry lecture and lab sections (the equivalent of three courses per semester), and participate in departmental and college faculty life. Specific teaching assignments will be based on the expertise of the successful candidates. QUALIFICATIONS
PhD or advanced graduate school standing. ABD with teaching experience considered. Must be able to reside in or primarily work in Oregon by the first day of employment.
Typical Work Schedule:
Classes typically meet one to three times per week. This is an in-person teaching position.
Salary:
