Position Description:

Apply Position Description The Department of Mathematical and Computing Sciences at Ripon College is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time position as tenure-track Associate Professor or Assistant Professor, or as non-tenure-track Professor of Practice in the areas of Data Science, Mathematics, or Computer Science, with preference for specialties or strong interest in A.I. or cybersecurity. The candidate must be willing to lead the development of a Data Science major. The initial term of the position begins in August 2026. Applicants for a tenure-track position should have a Ph.D. or ABD-status in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related area. Applicants for a non-tenure-track position should have an

M.A./M.S.

with at least four years of professional experience. Applicants should expect to teach a variety of courses related to data science, some of which could be classified as math or computer science courses, including courses related to data mining and machine learning, and courses in other areas directly related to the candidate's background or interests. Applicants would likely also teach other courses that are more core to math or computer science and contribute to our innovative Catalyst (general education) program. The teaching load is three courses per semester. We especially welcome applicants with experience in student-centered learning approaches such as active learning and inquiry-based learning, and applicants who can easily incorporate undergraduate students into their research program. The faculty at Ripon College are a talented and dynamic group of teacher-scholars who work closely with a diverse student population on capstone and undergraduate research projects and participate in interdisciplinary collaboration with one another on scholarship and creative activity. The faculty benefit from wide-ranging opportunities for support, including curriculum development grants, travel grants, scholarly/artistic grants, and colleague teaching grants. Required Qualifications:

Ph.D. or ABD in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related area, or a master's degree with at least 4 years of professional experience for the Professor of Practice position. Ability to teach and advise in areas related to data science as well as core courses in either mathematics or computer science. Candidates with a Ph.D. will have a clearly articulated research agenda. Candidates with an

will demonstrate how their experience in the field will inform their teaching. Strong commitment to student-centered active learning and student engagement.
