Job Description
Full Time Lecturer, Communication The Department of Communication in the College of Arts and Sciences at Indiana State University invites applications for a full-time, one year, non-tenure-track Lecturer position in Communication - Public Speaking/Generalist, to begin Fall 2026. The duties in this role may include: Primarily teach introduction to public speaking, a core first-year foundational studies course for all undergraduates. Qualified candidates may have the opportunity to teach other courses that serve the department's communication curriculum. Provide instruction for 5 in-person courses a semester. Full time lecturers teach a 5-5 course load across fall and spring semesters. Assess student work and provide constructive and timely feedback on how to improve students' content knowledge, critical thinking skills, research abilities, and oral and written communication skills, etc. Mentor first-year undergraduate students to successfully acclimate to the College. Build, maintain and keep current course Canvas sites. Hold office hours. Attend College workshops and professional development opportunities related to the first-year curriculum; complete campus-wide training required by the Offices of Academic Affairs and Human Resources.
Basic Qualifications:
Master's degree in Communication Significant experience teaching public speaking/introduction to public communication at the college level Demonstrated excellence in teachingApplication Process:
