POSITION SUMMARY
Moravian University invites applications for part-time adjunct teaching positions in the Communications program. This is an interdisciplinary program that prepares students to become skilled communicators prepared to lead and innovate in a diverse and globally connected world. Through a curriculum that integrates theory with contemporary professional practices, we empower students to analyze, create, and strategically manage messages across a variety of platforms and contexts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach courses as assigned which correlate with the catalog descriptions and course outlines, in a manner designed to assist the student in achieving the specific objectives of the course. Teach undergraduate courses in any of the following areas: introductory communications or media studies, communications theory, intercultural communication, principles of public relations, strategic communications Communicate regularly and professionally with the Program Director Provide detailed and timely feedback to students on assignments Hold student hours (sometimes known as "office hours") weekly Complete required administrative tasks, including verifying enrollment rosters, submitting syllabi to the department for approval and records, entering final grades, and completing any necessary paperwork in a timely manner. Comply with all relevant program and university policies
QUALIFICATIONS
MA Degree in Communication Studies or related field Proficiency in a variety of communication and teaching perspectives Knowledge of contemporary communication theories and applications Excellent relational skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Terminal degree or professional experience relevant to upper division, undergraduate Communication Studies major courses. Prior teaching experience at the university level Understanding of the ethical and practical roles of AI in the field of communications
