Job Description Summary
Exalt Academy is hiring an innovative EAST and Computer Science Teacher to lead courses that develop students' skills in technology, problem-solving, collaboration, and real-world project design. This role emphasizes student-driven learning, computational thinking, and hands-on projects aligned with Arkansas standards and career pathways.
The ideal candidate has a strong computer science background and can help students build both technical skills and the ability to apply those skills to authentic community-based challenges through the EAST model.

Qualified Candidates Must:
Deliver engaging instruction in computer science, technology, and project-based learning
Facilitate student-driven EAST projects focused on problem-solving and community impact
Build students' skills in computational thinking, digital tools, collaboration, and presentation
Connect academic content to career pathways and real-world technical applications
Maintain high expectations while supporting student growth through clear feedback and strong relationships
Collaborate with peers and maintain strong professional documentation
Duties Include:
Teach EAST and Computer Science courses aligned to Arkansas standards and district expectations
Support students in developing projects, presentations, and technology-based solutions to authentic problems
Teach foundational computer science concepts such as coding, digital citizenship, problem-solving, and systems thinking
Integrate collaborative, cross-disciplinary learning experiences that connect technology to real-world applications
Maintain equipment, supplies, and classroom systems that support safe and effective learning
Participate in curriculum development and expansion of the school's EAST and Computer Science pathway
Build a structured, engaging classroom culture where students take ownership of their learning
Education & Certification Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree required
Computer Science background strongly preferred
Arkansas teaching certification required or eligibility for certification
Certification in Computer Science, Business/Technology, CTE, or related field preferred
Industry experience in computer science, technology, or related field preferred
1-3 years of instructional or field-related experience preferred
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with computer science tools, coding platforms, and instructional technology
Ability to support student learning in programming, digital tools, and project development
Familiarity with project-based learning and student-led instructional models
Ability to manage and maintain classroom technology and technical resources
Preferred Attributes:
Strong belief in the potential of students from underserved communities
Ability to blend structure with creativity in a student-centered environment
Commitment to innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Skill in helping students communicate their ideas through presentations, demonstrations, and project showcases
