Summary of Job Duties:
This Instructor of Criminal Justice is responsible for teaching criminal justice courses in both face-to-face and online formats, working positively with students, staff, faculty, and the community, teaching across all academic programs as appropriate, mentoring and advising undergraduate students, and serving the department, university, and the community. This nine-month, non-tenure track position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
Qualifications:
Required Education and/or
Experience:
A Master of Arts or a Master of Science or a higher degree in Criminal Justice or a related field of study or a Juris Doctorate; The individual should have experience teaching. Preferred Education and/or
Experience:
Experience teaching at a college or university is highly valued.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for teaching criminal justice courses in both face-to-face and online formats; Work positively with students, staff, faculty, and the community; Teach across all academic programs as appropriate; Mentor and advise undergraduate students and serve the department, university, and community; Help with recruitment, retention, and program initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work with students; Capacity to teach large numbers of students in any given semester; Collegial and establish good relationships with our external constituency.
