Job Description

Edward Waters University, situated in Florida, has a long-standing history as the first autonomous institution of higher education created to educate African-American students. EWU is accepting applications for Adjunct Faculty positions, which are part-time employment opportunities. We are seeking adjunct faculty for the following programs of study: Accounting, Economics, Sports Management, Public Administration, Cybersecurity, Public Health, Criminal Justice, Religious Studies, Mathematics, Communications, Business, Psychology, History, Sociology, Biological Science, Chemistry, Physical Science, and, Physics. The vacancy pool will remain open and applicants will be contacted as the need for an adjunct instructor arises.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach assigned classes under the supervision of the dean and department chair Aide students in fulfilling their maximum potential in mastering course content Assess student learning outcomes Maintain a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in his/her regular teaching field Continue professional development Utilize current technology in the performance of job duties Maintain standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position Assist with articulation and curriculum development and review Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the dean Fulfill other duties and responsibilities of an adjunct faculty member as outlined in the University faculty handbook
Qualifications:
A Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution is required; a Ph.D. is preferred Official copies of University transcripts must be on file by the appointment date for the successful candidate selected Teaching experience, service, and record of scholarly activity appropriate to the rank are desirable Strong communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational, computer, and problem-solving skills
