Non-Tenure Track Teaching Position in
Criminal Justice Tenure Status:
Non-Tenure Track Department:
Government & Justice Studies - 250750 Minimum Qualifications Applicants must have, at minimum, a Master's degree in Criminal Justice or related field. Applicants with a relevant terminal degree are encouraged to apply. Areas of Interest (No Minimum Level Required) The areas of expertise for the position are open to all subfields. Prior professional experience and teaching experience in different course delivery formats is desirable. License/Certification Required Description of the Department or Unit The Department of Government and Justice Studies (GJS) is home to over 900 undergraduate majors in criminal justice and political science and over 60 graduate students in political science and public administration. It has more than 30 full-time faculty who are at the forefront of their diverse areas of expertise and are amongst the most honored teachers at Appalachian State University. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The teaching load is 4 courses per semester. The primary teaching assignments will be in-person classes at our Hickory campus with additional courses in our online program. To be considered, applicants must be available to teach in-person classes during normal business hours at the Hickory campus.
