Law Enforcement 1819 N Main Ave. San Antonio, Texas, 78212 United States Requisition #: req13724 Outside working hours if other than M-F 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.: Evenings and weekends may be required Job Summary and Description Teaching faculty are professional educators who have the primary responsibility of fulfilling the District mission of providing a quality education for all students attending the colleges. Categories include full-time, temporary with benefits, and temporary without benefits. Faculty members are responsible to a department/program chairperson; The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of leader, teacher, advisor, and facilitator of learning. Faculty members will uphold the mission and values of the colleges' and foster effective working relationships with students and colleagues. Minimum of an associate degree in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice or related field. Five years of experience as a Law Enforcement officer. Three years of experience teaching Law Enforcement classes.Required License and Certifications:
Texas Commission on Law enforcement Peace Officer license or retired Peace Officer or TCO License. TCOLE Basic Peace Officer Instructor and Proficiency.Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice or a related field or higher. Teaching Basic Peace Officer Courses at a Law Enforcement Academy. Ten years of paid experience as a Texas Peace Officer. Firearms Instructor Range Master Professional Police Driving Instructor Defensive Tactics Instructor SFST Instructor CIT Instructor CPR Instructor TIM's Instructor ALERT Instructor Taser Instructor OC Instructor Subject Matter Expert on 3 or more topics Preferred Licenses and Certifications Honorable F-5 Discharge(s) (if applicable).
