Reports To Principal Supervises None Essential Duties and Responsibilities Coaches and mentors teachers by modeling effective STEM instructional strategies and best practices in the school setting. Provides instruction to students using research-based STEM technologies aligned with College and Career-Ready Math, Reading, Science, and Digital Literacy standards. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of College and Career-Ready Math, Science, and Digital Literacy and Computer Science (DLCS) Standards. Conducts demonstration lessons and models effective STEM instruction to support success for all students. Serves as a resource and instructional support for classroom teachers. Plans, delivers, and facilitates professional development workshops, serving as a catalyst for continuous professional growth among Math and Science teachers. Identifies, secures, and manages instructional resources to support STEM teaching and learning. Participates in and assists with leading STEM professional development initiatives at the district level. Serves on the school Leadership Team to promote continuous instructional improvement. Implements the districtwide STEM plan aligned with the Strategic Plan and state standards, including the
Alabama Course of Study:
Digital Literacy and Computer Science. Collaborates with the STEM Coordinator, district personnel, school administrators, and teachers to integrate STEM resources and instructional materials into the curriculum. Leads efforts to maintain Cognia STEM Certification for the school. Develops training programs and instructional resources to enhance STEM instruction and integration across all grade levels. Monitors, evaluates, and analyzes the effectiveness of STEM programs using data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement. Promotes STEM opportunities and supports programs that prepare students for advanced STEM coursework and careers. Supports effective communication and collaboration among school and district stakeholders regarding STEM initiatives. Provides regular updates, documentation, and reports to the STEM Coordinator on program implementation, progress, and impact. Identifies and secures external resources, including grants and community or industry partnerships, to support STEM initiatives. Demonstrates effective human relations and interpersonal skills. Evaluates educational programs and student progress. Communicates effectively with parents, colleagues, administrators, and community stakeholders. Uses correct grammar and professional language in written and oral communication. Maintains accurate records and submits required reports in a timely manner. Adheres to all school district policies, administrative procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Engages in ongoing professional growth and development activities. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, Math, Science, and/or Technology Education and three (3) years of successful experience in STEM instruction or professional training utilizing technology integration. A valid Alabama teaching certificate is required. Physical Requirements Requires work exerting up to twenty (20) pounds of force occasionally and/or up to ten (10) pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. Terms of Employment Nine month year. Salary as recommended by the Superintendent and approved by the Board.
