Instructional Specialist
REPORTS TO
Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Student Learning
QUALIFICATIONS
Alabama Leadership Certificate Required Minimum 3 years successful teaching experience Instructional Coaching experience preferred
JOB GOAL
To provide specialized services and support to improve instruction, technology integration, and increase achievement districtwide.
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Assist in providing effective support for the district in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the instructional framework. 2. Assist in the district accreditation process, planning, and organization. 3. Coordinate with other central office personnel to assess educational needs at both the school level and district level. 4. Provide differentiated support to school leadership teams through instructional coaching, data-driven decision making, progress monitoring, and school improvement planning to strengthen teaching, learning, and student outcomes. 5. Assist in the planning and organization of systemwide Professional Development. 6. Communicate a clear understanding of instructional services and programs to all stakeholders. 7. Collaborate with coordinators, administrators, and teachers to support all instructional efforts, including but not limited to Project-Based Learning, STEAM, standards-based instruction, and assessments. 8. Assist with efforts to effectively implement College and Career Ready Standards at all grade levels. 9. Support teachers in using research-based models, strategies, and materials. 10. Provide resource materials to teachers that support high-quality curriculum planning and pacing. 11. Provide structures for collaborative planning in all subject areas, including opportunities for vertical and horizontal planning with teachers to ensure instructional alignment and consistency. 12. Stay abreast of research and effective practice in all subject areas by attending various professional development sessions. 13. Lead and support district initiatives designed to improve student performance on state accountability measures, including ACAP and ACT, through strategic instructional planning, assessment alignment, data analysis, and targeted professional learning. 14. Assist in conducting instructional rounds and classroom snapshots to identify district-wide trends and collaborate with school leadership teams to recommend opportunities for professional learning and resources to improve teacher practice and student growth. 15. Support the development and maintenance of district benchmark assessments and pacing guides for all subject areas/grade levels using digital/online assessment programs. 16. Assist with the coordination of data analysis for local schools and the district. 17. Assist in developing and providing professional growth opportunities for staff. 18. Assist in planning, preparing, and submitting grant proposals. 19. Support teachers through mentoring, modeling, co-teaching, and providing resources. 20. Assist school personnel in the
MTSS/RTI
process, including but not limited to provide training, attend meetings, monitor referrals, etc. 21. Assist school administrators and instructional coaches in the development of PLC's, local school professional learning, and Data Meetings. 22. Use creativity skills in developing promotional media for district public relations, including but not limited to brochures, pamphlets, website content, and social media. 23. Any other duties as assigned.
EVALUATION
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy.

To be determined current salary schedule.
