Classroom Teaching Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Office of Coordinated Support and Service Curriculum & Instructional Support Specialist is responsible for supporting all curriculum and instruction programs and services at D and F Districts. This position focuses on ensuring high-quality teaching and learning through curriculum development, professional learning, instructional support, and data-informed decision-making. This Specialist will serve as a liaison between the district and external partners, including, but not limited to, the Arkansas Department of Education's Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and Education Service Cooperative in the district region.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Curriculum and Instructional Support:
Analyze curricular needs across all grade levels and content areas to ensure alignment with state standards and district goals. Collaborate with district and building leaders to develop and update curriculum documents. Ensure district alignment with state curricular initiatives. Assist with the selection, implementation, and evaluation of instructional materials. Maintain a data platform and facilitate the use of assessment data to support instructional planning. Support building leaders in their capacity as instructional leaders in their given building.
Professional Learning:
Attend state and regional professional development to remain current on best practices and educational trends. Share new learning with school leadership and instructional staff as directed. Assist with district-wide professional development sessions to build teacher and leader capacity as needed. Support novice and experienced teachers through coaching, mentoring, and collaborative learning experiences.
Data and Continuous Improvement:
Lead the analysis of student assessment data to inform instructional practices and interventions. Support the use of data at the school and classroom levels to improve student learning outcomes. Monitor the implementation of curriculum and instructional strategies and adjust support as needed.
Collaboration and Communication:
Serve as the district liaison to DESE and maintain ongoing communication to ensure compliance and alignment with state initiatives. Collaborate closely with Education Service Cooperatives to coordinate professional learning and access regional resources.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a related field. Valid Arkansas educator license with certification in building or district-level administration preferred. Minimum of five years of experience in teaching and/or instructional leadership. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum design, instructional coaching, and data analysis. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to build positive relationships across roles and settings. Experience working with DESE and/or regional service cooperatives preferred.
Terms of Employment:
12-month contract, 240 Day Evaluated annually in accordance with policy
