This position plans, directs, facilitates, and supervises the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of best practices in teaching and learning, technologies, and employee professional development. This position will provide leadership and collaboration across the institution and district to enhance faculty and staff development, fostering innovation and advancement in learning, instruction, and assessment, with a strong focus on advancing the college's commitment to student success.   • Facilitates college-wide sharing and implementation of best practices in teaching and learning. Consults with faculty, administrators, and staff on issues related to the selection, implementation, and evaluation of instructional materials and technologies, assessment; builds and maintains a community of faculty and staff around teaching and learning techniques and strategies. 25%
  • Directs program review, needs assessment, task analysis, content analysis, learner characteristic assessment, environmental review, and instructional analysis; participates in committee work related to learning and instructional design and shared governance; Directs and conducts applied research and data interpretation; Analyzes and uses data to inform decisions about programs and services within the CTL, including budget management.

  • Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, reviews, and evaluates the work of CTL staff, identifies training needs and opportunities. 15%
  • Applies and modifies instructional design models and instructional systems, serves as a consultant on special learning, instructional, and/or assessment programs. 10%
  • Other duties as assigned, commensurate with the grade level of the position.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, educational leadership or instructional design, or related field; six (6) years of full-time equivalent experience in educational leadership or instructional design and development, that includes two (2) years of supervisory experience and program development and evaluation. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications Curriculum Development, Organizational Development, or a closely related field. Three (3) or more years of strategic leadership experience in a teaching and learning center or similar academic support environment with demonstrated experience conducting program review, learner and task analysis, and using data to support continuous improvement of instructional programs and services. Experience teaching and/or developing online, hybrid, and face-to-face courses in higher education, with applied knowledge of instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, backward design, Universal Design for Learning) and Peer or Master Reviewer certification in Quality Matters (QM) or similar. Demonstrated experience designing and delivering faculty development programs, including workshops, webinars, training sessions, and communities of practice focused on teaching, learning, and instructional innovation and experience building and sustaining strong partnerships with faculty, staff, and administrators, to lead campus-wide initiatives that promote the sharing and adoption of evidence-based teaching and learning practices. Three (3) or more years of experience supervising professional staff, overseeing multiple simultaneous projects, allocating and monitoring resources, budget development and management, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Three (3) or more years of experience with assessment tools and methodologies for evaluating educational programs, including data analysis and interpretation for program improvement. Demonstrated experience using, implementing, or managing learning management systems (LMS) and a wide range of instructional and educational technologies that support teaching and learning.
