Job Description

Under the limited direction of the designated senior leader or manager, the Medical Education Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Nursing, Allied Health and Ancillary rotating student education activities within the department of Academic Affairs. This position serves as a staff member of Academic Affairs with emphasis on Nursing, Allied Health and Ancillary rotating student education activities throughout Valleywise Health.
Qualifications Education :
Requires a Bachelor's degree in related field; or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work.
Experience :
Requires either two (2) years of medical education related experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills and abilities; or, one (1) year of experience working in the Valleywise Health Academic Affairs Department.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Requires excellent record-keeping skills, office organizational skills, and computer literacy necessary for entering and manipulating statistical data, creating schedules, and ability to maintain detailed, accurate, and complete records of departmental activities and confidential personnel/training records. Requires strong interpersonal skills and flexibility necessary to be socially perceptive in accepting, relaying, and respecting confidential information, communicating policies and procedures, and dealing with individuals from variety of disciplines and diverse backgrounds. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to interact professionally and maintain confidentiality with broad range of leaders and medical professionals across the health system. Must have excellent organization skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects with careful attention to detail, accuracy and deadlines. Requires strong problem solving skills, with ability to formulate practical solutions. Requires initiative and ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. Requires strong knowledge of and ability to operate various computer software applications, including data spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint my Clinical Exchange Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
