Special Education Coordinator/Facilitator Qualifications:
Possess a Master's Degree Have certification and experience in exceptional student services. Show two years successful teaching at the secondary level. Have experience in the coordination of programs/services with general education teachers and teachers of exceptional students. Have experience with legal regulations of referral, placement evaluation/ review of exceptional students Have knowledge and experience in staffing and writing of IEPs. Possess skills in utilization of school and community resources in working with students, school staff, other professionals, and parents.
Special Education Coordinator/Facilitator Special Education Teacher Responsibilities:
Coordinate the exceptional student program at the campus level. Ensure compliance with Board, State, and Federal regulations regarding students with disabilities. Administer the student referral and evaluation process. Conduct placement and review conferences for students in the exceptional student program. Provide curriculum coordination for department staff. Support and facilitate staff development for department personnel.
