Stipends Internet $75/mo, mileage reimbursement and education stipend for MA $2,000/yr and/or Doctorate $3,500/yr Retirement STRS and optional 403(b)/457(b) per board policy Position details Education Specialists serve students online and may be assigned students in grades TK-12. Job Summary Job Summary The Education Specialist is responsible for providing direct special education Specialized Academic Instructional services to students with disabilities in person and/or virtually, according to their Individualized Education Program Plan (IEP); provide and manage all facets of the IEP planning for students with disabilities including, but not limited to case management, academic assessment, preparing and facilitating
  • IEP meetings and other case management duties as necessary; Individualized Transition Planning (ITP) for students age 16 to 22, community and resource linkages that assist students with IEPs in accessing available resources that support their disability, and consultation and collaboration with students' general education teachers, families, the Special Education Department, and other stakeholders on behalf of students with disabilities.
Employees must reside within the state of California for the duration of their employment with CalPac. While the majority of job duties may be completed in the remote office, the incumbent in this job classification may be directed to provide in-person services, perform assessments, or attend field trips, meetings, trainings, or conferences in person as determined by the supervisor. CalPac assists employees with travel arrangements where airline or hotel accommodation is necessary. View Job Description Requirements / Qualifications The selected candidate must reside and work within the State of California for the duration of their employment. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A valid, current, and appropriate California State Education Specialist Instruction teaching credential (as required by assignment) and English Learner certification. A copy of the credential must be provided at the time of hire and kept current as a condition of employment. (Dual credentialed and/or added Bridge Authorization highly desirable) State and federal background clearance (LiveScan) to work with students (Education Code Section 44237). No prospective employee can report to work without this clearance being received and Human Resources notifying the immediate supervisor of this clearance. Proof of a clear TB test dated within the last 60 days (Education Code Section 49406) upon employment and thereafter updated every four years. Copy of Transcript Credential Copy Letter of Introduction Letter(s) of Recommendation (Three current letters of recommendation with at least one letter from an immediate supervisors) Resume Requirements / Qualifications The selected candidate must reside and work within the State of California for the duration of their employment.
