English Language Development Coordinator Larchmont Charter School - 3.7 Los Angeles, CA Job Details $50 - $65 an hour 16 hours ago Qualifications Teaching experience with English language learners (ELLs) School experience Quantitative analysis for student progress evaluation Student progress monitoring Professional development facilitation in schools Teacher training Teacher mentoring for professional development Teaching Certification Research Teacher coaching Working with students English language learner (ELL) student support Student academic progress tracking Full Job Description Position Summary Larchmont Charter School seeks a highly qualified and experienced English Language Development (ELD) Coordinator to serve as a Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) supporting English Learner (EL) students and staff across all TK-12 campuses. Working one day per week, the ELD Coordinator will lead the development, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the school's English Learner program, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements while advancing best practices in both Designated and Integrated ELD. The ELD Coordinator will collaborate with school leaders, teachers, intervention staff, and special education teams to strengthen instructional practices, monitor student progress, and build coherent systems that support English Learners' academic achievement and language development. Essential Responsibilities English Learner Program Coordination & Case Management Monitor and support the academic and language development progress of all English Learners (TK-12). Maintain oversight of English Learner records, including: ELPAC and Interim ELPAC assessment data English Learner progress monitoring Designated ELD implementation and documentation Reclassification data and processes Compliance requirements related to English Learner services Analyze student performance data and identify students requiring additional support or intervention. Collaborate with administrators and teachers to monitor progress toward language acquisition goals and reclassification criteria. Professional Development & Coaching Design and facilitate professional development for TK-12 teachers and staff on: California ELD Standards Designated ELD best practices Integrated ELD strategies across content areas Effective instruction for multilingual learners Progress monitoring and data-informed instructional practices Provide coaching and consultation to teachers regarding instructional planning and implementation for English Learners. Program Development & Resource Evaluation Research, evaluate, and recommend high-quality curricula, instructional resources, professional learning opportunities, and evidence-based practices related to English Learner instruction. Support the selection and implementation of instructional materials and assessment tools aligned with California ELD Standards. Stay current on state guidance, research, and best practices related to multilingual learner education. Systems Development & Continuous Improvement Design, implement, and maintain simple, high-leverage systems for monitoring and supporting English Learners across TK-12. Develop structures and tools that promote consistency and fidelity in Designated and Integrated ELD implementation across campuses. Establish systems for ongoing review of EL achievement, language growth, and program effectiveness. Collaborate with school leadership to ensure continuous improvement of the English Learner program. Collaboration Partner with site administrators, instructional leaders, intervention staff, and special education teams to ensure coordinated support for English Learners. Participate in meetings and planning processes related to English Learner achievement and program implementation. Support communication regarding English Learner services and outcomes as needed. Qualifications Required Valid California Teaching Credential. English Learner Authorization (CLAD, BCLAD, EL Authorization, or equivalent). Demonstrated success teaching English Learners. Deep knowledge of California ELD Standards, ELPAC, reclassification criteria, and best practices for multilingual learners. Experience analyzing student achievement and language proficiency data. Strong communication, collaboration, coaching, and professional development facilitation skills. Preferred Master's degree in Education, TESOL, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a related field. Experience serving in an instructional leadership, coaching, TOSA, or coordinator role. Experience implementing and monitoring schoolwide ELD systems. Experience supporting both elementary and secondary instructional programs.
