ASSIGNMENT SUMMARY
The Enrollment & Outreach Specialist will conduct brief health education/awareness and outreach contacts and encounters in the office. Patient facing roles require bilingual proficiency. This person will educate potential clients about health coverage programs, enroll clients into the appropriate coverage programs, assist with applications, and provide follow-up to ensure enrollment, utilization, and retention. In addition, the Enrollment & Outreach Specialist will make presentations to clients on specific health-related programs and topics to increase patient enrollment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bilingual English/Spanish, English/Thai, English/Bengali, or English/Korean Required. Flexible work schedule; may be required to work some nights and weekends. Computer proficient. Preferred experience in health education and outreach. College degree preferred, but not required. Must possess and present current criminal record clearance (Live Scan).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide outreach to explain Kheir's Clinical Services. Provide outreach to explain Medi-Cal, Family PACT and other health care options available to parents, teens and the general public. Assist members in the enrollment process for health insurance benefits and services that the organization provides. Act as a resource of information on the phone or in person, for reliable information regarding the clinic's programs. Schedule appointments for patients, and follow-up on any missed appointments. Facilitate presentations on other health-related topics including, but not limited to, teen pregnancy preventions and STD's, importance of prenatal and pediatric care, etc. Maintain records, logs, signing sheets, and other documentation required to track for contract compliance and evaluate program performance. Other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This is primarily an office position that requires only occasional bending, reaching, stooping, lifting and moving of office materials weighing 25 pounds or less. The position requires daily use of a company provided computer and requires entering, viewing, and revising text and graphics on the computer terminal and on paper. The position requires occasional travel to attend on- and off-site meetings.
