In this role, you will help strengthen health education services that support patient wellness, staff education, and mind body medicine programming across the medical center and military community. RESPONSIBILITIES I
. Mind Body Medicine Program Support Coordinate daily operations and administrative activities for Mind Body Medicine programs Support the planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of health education programs Coordinate health education activities with department leaders and multidisciplinary educators Prepare annual schedules for patient classes and health care provider in-service education Support individual consultations and Mind Body Medicine interventions, as appropriate II. Health Education & Curriculum Development Serve as an education resource for staff in inpatient, ambulatory care, and military community settings Plan, develop, review, and update curricula for patient, staff, and provider education Review educational and marketing materials for accuracy, relevance, and audience fit Keep current on health education methods, teaching strategies, instructional tools, and program evaluation practices Develop and promote Train-the-Trainer programs for professional staff III. Program Evaluation & Quality Improvement Conduct program evaluations, surveys, and assessments to identify patient needs and education priorities Support program improvement by evaluating instructor effectiveness and helping train educators Maintain professional standards through program reviews, research, assessments, and revisions Participate in performance improvement, continuing education, in-service training, and required meetings Maintain program records, workload data, reports, and education-related documentation IV. Outreach, Events & Resource Coordination Coordinate workshops, health fairs, displays, and other special education-focused events Promote assigned education programs to staff and patients across the medical center and branch clinics Serve as a liaison with military, community, health care, support, and education resources Help coordinate educational pamphlets, audiovisual materials, and other program supplies V. Medical Center Compliance & Documentation Follow medical center policies for safety, infection control, documentation, patient rights, and professional conduct Use required systems, including MHS GENESIS and DoD email, to support documentation and communication Maintain timely, accurate, and legible records in accordance with clinic directives Respond to email, voicemail, meetings, and other required communications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Familiarity with at least one mind body medicine or self-care practice, such as meditation, yoga, qigong, tai chi, or a similar modality Knowledge of public health principles, health education practices, learning theories, and current health teaching methods Ability to assess education needs and develop health education programs for specific patient, staff, or community groups Knowledge of research methods and the ability to support surveys, assessments, program reviews, and education-related studies Understanding of quality assessment principles used to monitor and improve health education services Ability to review curricula, training materials, and educational resources for accuracy, relevance, and effectiveness Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills in a multidisciplinary health care environment
REQUIRED EDUCATION
High bachelor's degree with successful completion of education in one of the following areas: Education, Social Work, Behavioral Sciences, Exercise Sciences, Nursing, Healthcare, or Public Health
