SCHEDULE
205 work days per calendar year including professional development, Regular School Year (RSY), and Extended School Year (ESY). Follows the Santa Rosa City Schools Academic Calendar. Broad background, extensive knowledge and practical application of principles, practices, methods and strategies applicable to students with emotional disabilities, history of trauma, and/or mild to moderate disabilities. Demonstrates ability to organize, prioritize, and deliver a variety of instructional strategies. Expresses ideas and concepts clearly and concisely in both oral and written form. Demonstrates ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with school districts, students, teachers, staff, and parents. Knowledge of interagency relationships and effective methods of program coordination. Knowledge of laws, codes, and regulations as they relate to special education and the IEP process. Personal qualities of leadership, integrity, fairness, optimism, self-confidence, and persistence. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred, but not mandatory
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION
Mild to
Moderate Special Education Credential, OR:
a Bachelor's Degree in an area that qualifies for a Provisional Intern or Short-Term Intern Permit. CPI offers partial tuition reimbursement for Intern Credential programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Prepare, track, and facilitate direct academic instruction to students. As each student's case manager (maximum of 12 students), work as a member of a multidisciplinary team for each student's academic goals and objectives as outlined in their Individual Education Program (IEP), Evaluate, track and enter data into SEIS, such as quarterly progress updates, present levels, transition services, and proposed goals. In IEP meetings, education specialists report out all applicable updates to the IEP team. Develop transition plans to support students identify and participate in targeted college and career activities, and development of life skills. Maintain up-to-date, accurate academic reports, records and files on individual students. Assist in identifying, developing and implementing appropriate use of resources for instructional application. Maintain effective working relationships with school districts and provide information and support to parents and families as appropriate. Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all students, while adhering to all applicable laws, codes, and school district policies. Perform related duties as assigned.
