A comprehensive CYP training program directly correles to the quality of child and youth programs provided. Major Duties and Responsibilities A T&C Specialist is assigned the responsibility of providing training to CYP professionals based on needs of the program. The incumbent is expected to opere independently with minimum supervision toward overall objectives of the programs. Incumbent utilizes child and youth development and training expertise to role model, mentor, coordine and provide training in support of the implemention of the curriculum. Serves as an Early Childhood Educion/Youth Development resource for CYP professionals by maintaining professional knowledge of curriculum development and merials for the approprie program and age group. Incumbent will observe for successful implemention of training, assess development of children and youth by direct observion, and provide services th lead to the program obtaining and/or maintaining nional accredition. The duties and responsibilities of the T&C can be grouped into cegories, including training, classroom and program support, compliance and additional responsibilities as described below. Training Orients new CYP professionals to the child and youth system and provides basic informion th can be applied in all program settings. Coordines with CYP Directors to establish training plans and a schedule for professional training. Ensures CYP training opportunities include management, support, and direct care professionals. Provides training th is approprie for, and tailored to, the age group of the children and youth with whom the CYP professionals' work. Executes the DoD Standardized Module Training Program, provides initial oriention, ongoing annual training and ensures training is available to support career progression. Incumbent arranges for subject mter experts to conduct/support specialized training. Ensures completion and documention of required training. Works with CYP professionals to ensure modules are completed. Identifies additional training needs. Maintains training records and supports Individual Development Plans. Prepares training stus reports and recommendions to supervisors and notifies CYP Directors of employees' and providers' training stus and performance. Develops programs th encourage and support the pursuit of continuing higher educion by documenting requirements for completion of the Child Development Associe or the Military School-Age Credential. Provides informion, assistance and guidance to CYP professionals seeking college-level classes to meet professional goals. Assists FCC Director and FCC Monitor(s) in the accredition process for providers. Develops a working relionship with local colleges, universities and professional organizions and advises employees/providers about continuing avenues of professional development. Participes in the CYP Inclusion Action Team meetings as required. Coordines staff training th includes reference to food and environmental allergies or physical disabilities, and policies and procedures on special needs accommodions. EVALUATIONS
Qualificions (1) A 4-year degree in Early Childhood Educion or Child/Youth Development or a reled field such as Elementary Educion, Special Educion, Family and Consumer Science (Early Childhood emphasis) AND 3 years of full-time experience working with children and/or youth. OR (2) A combinion of educion ( least 24 semester hours) and experience, or additional course work, th th provided knowledge comparable to th normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above AND 3 years of full-time experience working with children and/or youth. (3) Knowledge of early childhood or youth educion principles, concepts, and techniques to develop, interpret, monitor, and evalue the execution of curriculum and age-approprie activities. (4) Knowledge of adult learning techniques and stregies and experience training adult learners. (5) Ability to support DoD certificion, accredition, and staff credentialing (Child Development Associe (CDA), Associe of Arts (AA) Degree) by ensuring th required training is administered and successfully accomplished to meet stutory and program requirements. Must have the ability to supervise and provide guidance and leadership to employees and providers. Ability to identify and respond to emergency situions including evacuions, child illness, and physical and emotional disorders. Ability to communice effectively in English, both orally and in writing, and possess strong interpersonal communicion skills. Sisfactorily complete all background checks in accordance with DoD and Marine Corps policy for employees who provide childcare services. Must pass a pre-employment physical and annual physical, thereafter, provide evidence of immunizion and be free from communicable disease. Must complete all DoD training requirements within the specified time including oriention, initial and annual ongoing training requirements, and required certificions, if any. Must maintain current food handlers, CPR and First Aid certificions. May be required to obtain a government driver's license. Ability to communice effectively in English, both orally and in writing, and possess strong interpersonal communicion skills.
