Job Description

Phoenix Defense is now accepting applications for an Instructional Designer supporting simulation software programs in Orlando, FL. Phoenix Defense is an agile provider of engineering, manufacturing, information technology, Modeling & Simulation and logistics services to the defense, aerospace, and critical infrastructure markets. SUMMARY:
The Instructional Designer will report to the Training Manager. They are responsible for developing, evaluating, and revising training course documentation and material using military standards and the ADDIE process model, complimentary to an AGILE software development environment. Additionally, this position will be assigned other projects or tasks in alignment with the level and scope of the position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and revise training documentation and training material using military standards and the ADDIE instructional model. Develop training documentation in accordance with military standard Data Item Descriptions (DIDs). Define instructional, learning, or performance objectives using adult learning methodologies. Perform task analysis and develop learning objectives. Develop lesson plans, trainee guides, visual aids, and other instructional material. Conduct research necessary to determine appropriate training methodologies (instructor led training, interactive multimedia instruction, blended learning). Provide analytical support for the design and development of training curricula, learning strategies, policies, or courseware standards. Perform tools studies and recommend tools to increase efficiencies in training development. Consult with executive management on establishing and altering corporate policies to develop instructional material. Conduct training effectiveness studies and promote process improvement for ADDIE training development.
Position Requirements:
Associates to Bachelors degree in a relevant field (depending on the position level) Minimum five (5) to seven (7) years of training development experience Intermediate to Expert proficiency of MS Office Suite and/or Adobe Suites. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong presentation skills. Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods. Ability to evaluate and research training options, materials and alternatives. Ability to design and implement effective training and development. Experience working in an Agile development environment. Holds (or has the ability to obtain) a DoD Security clearance. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required. Domestic and International travel to Military Installations in support of Program activities may be required. Prior knowledge of U.S. military platforms and unit structure preferred, but not mandatory.
