Job Description:

Adjunct (part-time) instructors are hired on an as-needed, term-by-term (or per course) basis. By applying for this position, you will be joining the part-time instructional pool for consideration as a prospective adjunct instructor. The OSHA instructor will deliver engaging, compliant coursework on topics such as workplace safety, hazard recognition, injury prevention, and OSHA10 certification. This role includes preparing lessons, facilitating classroom and hands-on training, assessing student performance, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of OSHA regulations. The Adjunct Instructor is directly accountable to the Department Chair for the following duties and responsibilities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide classroom/laboratory instruction in accordance the OSHA curriculum. Fulfill contractual obligations during the term. Conduct class according to the approved OSHA Compliance program. Utilize the approved textbook and/or other instructional materials as approved. Be fully prepared and on time. Utilize LMS following college policies and procedures. Submit attendance confirmation per college policies and procedures. Maintain student scores and submit scores at the applicable times to OSHA. Support students by engaging them in class, answering questions in a timely manner, and referring them for additional support when necessary. Be familiar with and abide by college policies. Treat students and colleagues with respect and understanding of differences. Assist in development of curriculum as appropriate. Complete annual mandatory compliance training. Perform other duties as assigned by the department supervisor.

Requirements:

Current OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) Construction or General Industry certification. Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry certification, completion of OHSA 510 and

OSHA 500.

Demonstrated evidence of professional growth through participation in continuing education and other related activities. Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Ten (10) years of documented relevant work experience. Proficiency with teaching technologies, including lecture-capture software, such as Camtasia or Kaltura, and familiarity with web-conferencing software to facilitate synchronous online student support. Experience in student engagement techniques. ? •All degrees must be from a regionally accredited postsecondary institution.
