Summary:
This position is for an Exceptional Student Education (ESE) District Resource Teacher (DRT) for Charter Schools who will serve assigned charter schools as the primary liaison between Hillsborough County Public Schools and charter schools regarding ESE programs, services, compliance, and student support. The position provides technical assistance, coaching, consultation, and monitoring to ensure charter schools implement ESE requirements in accordance with federal and state laws, State Board of Education rules, district procedures, and charter contract requirements. The primary role of the ESE DRT is to Assists schools with the development, implementation, and monitoring of Individual Educational Plans (IEPs), eligibility determinations, and related ESE processes. The Resource Teacher, District, will provide technical assistance, curriculum support, and training to school and district staff

Responsibilities:
Demonstrates a strong working knowledge of best practices in specified content area Develops and conducts professional development for targeted audience in specific content areas regarding instructional strategies, best practices, and specific instructional topics. Provides coaching to targeted audience to improve instruction, classroom organization, classroom management, and effective implementation of district-provided resources. Conducts data conferences with classroom teachers to interpret data and plan instruction. Models effective teaching techniques when presenting to groups and other professionals. Assists specified content supervisors in developing model lesson plans and curriculum development. Meets regularly with building administrators regarding classroom practices and provides ongoing feedback with specified content supervisor. Continues to develop professional expertise through professional readings, training, and conferences. Performs any other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully.
Education:
A bachelor's degree. Degree or formal training in education preferred.
Experience:
Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in classroom teaching with emphasis on specific area of expertise. Two (2) years of related management or supervisory experience preferred. Educational Leadership experience preferred.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:
Florida Professional Educator certificate.
Language Skills:
Reads, analyzes, and interprets all kinds of documents. Responds to inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies, or community. Writes speeches and effectively presents to managers, the public, and school board.
Mathematical Skills:
Works with math concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. Applies concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
Microsoft Office.
