Pay Scale:
Certified Salary Schedule Candidate must have or be eligible for certification in School Librarian (P-12) issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. Experience in a school setting is preferred. Additional certification in Instructional Technology is a plus. Master's Degree in Instructional Technology preferred.
SUMMARY:
Plan and establish a media program for the benefit of students and instructional staff. Transform the traditional Media Center into an environment that is conducive to 21st-century learners. Provide development opportunities for teachers/staff to include the effective use of digital resources and activities to enhance student achievement. Provide school-based support to instructional technology.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and maintain a collection of quality instructional materials and educational resources in all content areas that are relevant to and supportive of the school curriculum
  • Create a 21st-century learning environment involving the use of computers, mobile technology, and other devices for technology-based learning
  • Work with teachers as they develop and teach engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences that incorporate technology and include research-based best practices
  • Support the use of instructional technology to engage students and provide 24/7 access to digital information resources for the learning community
  • Assess, promote and use existing and emerging technologies to support teaching and learning and connect the school with the global learning community
  • Support the effective use of instructional technology, including digital communication and collaboration tools
  • Maintain and manage digital and print resources and ensure materials are accurately cataloged and circulated
  • Manage the fiscal budget and related resources effectively and make purchases that adhere to established Morgan County Charter School System board policy
  • Support the use of online resources, databases, and electronic books
  • Select materials for the school and its program which support the goals and curriculum of the school and ensure materials are accessible to students and teachers
  • Provide instruction in the use of information, communication, and technology skills using print and non-print resources for whole classes, small groups, individual students, and teachers
  • Instruct students on how to locate, access, and evaluate appropriate information in various formats
  • Collaborate with administrators, teachers, and other instructional staff to develop standards-aligned curriculum and interdisciplinary instructional activities that integrate technology and to select digital resources that support these
  • Provide support in facilitating professional learning sessions with school staff to effectively integrate technology and establish professional learning experiences for the school community to increase knowledge of technology resources and instructional activities.
  • Select, evaluate, and facilitate the use of online resources
  • Coach teachers to assist with differentiating instruction using technology
