BASIC FUNCTION
The New Jersey Tutoring Corps Inc. provides high-impact tutoring for pre-K through Grade 8 students in math and literacy to close learning gaps. Tutoring will be embedded in established networks of community-based organizations in high-need communities and Local Education Agencies (LEA). The New Jersey Tutoring Corps is seeking to hire an On-site leader to oversee Tutor performance and provide guidance to Tutors during the summer program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Works with NJ/PATC program management as well as the district/community partner point-of-contact to develop strong relationships with the site staff and community Ensures that tutors have and use the necessary materials needed to help scholars succeed. Must complete the on-the-job training (OJT) checklist for each tutor they supervise, as well as review the tutor's lesson plans and report on that status. Completes and submits digital records of Tutor and Scholar attendance, scholar rosters, and site concerns. Works closely with program staff and participates in weekly coaching meetings with Tutors Manages the Tutor's work schedules. Apprise the Program Manager of staff issues immediately and help work to resolve them. Review Tutor performance and provide guidance as needed. Observe tutoring sessions and provide constructive feedback to tutors. Assist tutors with data-driven instruction using iReady. Provides coverage in the absence of a tutor. Cadence may vary.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's or Master's degree (Education field preferred but not required); Standard certificate, certificate of eligibility (CE), or certificate of eligibility with advanced standing (CEAS); Proven coaching experience in the public or charter school system (strongly recommended); Experience teaching; History of overseeing the work of others, providing feedback, and course correction when applicable; Leadership experience negotiating with administrative faculty (a plus, not required); New Jersey Certification of Criminal History (fingerprint form), or PA state clearances, if hired to work in Pennsylvania. MUST have a Gmail email address or be willing to create a Gmail account; and experience with Google Suite applications: Google Doc, Sheets and Forms. Employees are encouraged to use their private computer device(s) to perform work-related assignments. if necessary, employees can ask for a company loaner. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills and proven ability of conflict resolution skills;
EMPLOYER QUALIFICATIONS
Must adhere to local health department and school district requirements for the site at which you are working, including any mask rules that must be followed if applicable. Some knowledge of instructional frameworks such as Danielson, Marzano, or Strong. Undergo a background check for I9 status to work in the United States. Present a valid Driver's License, if you obtain one.
