12-MonthEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Illinois Public Educator License, General Administrative Endorsement, and Teacher Evaluator Designation required Undergrad degree in special education preferred, or a related services field (school psychology, school social work, etc.) Supervisory and/or leadership experience in special education programs, including leading Section 504 meetings and/or IEP meetings Supervisory and/or leadership experience managing building-level programming, parent concerns, and student disciplineREPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
Supervises and evaluates certified and support staff Enforces the district's personnel policies Participates in the recruitment, screening, hiring, assigning, and training of department personnel Assists with recommendations for tenure and dismissal Assists with coordination of contracted related service personnel Works with departmental staff to resolve student, staff, and/or parent problems Engages in relevant curriculum planning and development Provides consultation and leadership regarding health and safety assessments of students Maintains administrative records; prepares reports and correspondence Supervises special education compliance Attends relevant school, district, and professional meetings Participates in activities for continued professional growth Supervises Special Education department events Performs other duties as assigned by the DirectorKNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
