Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment | Assessment Curriculum Coordinator Fort Wayne, IN Job Details Full-time $71,898 a year 17 hours ago Qualifications Curriculum development Teaching Certification Master's degree Driver's License Technical Proficiency Full Job Description PURPOSE The Curriculum Coordinator advises the district on best practices in curriculum and instruction. The Coordinator remains informed on current research and instructional pedagogy that guide the development of district curricular resources in all content areas. A key focus is alignment with state, national, and district educational and instructional technology standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree with a valid teaching license and prior teaching experience in a content area, including curriculum development work. Strong analytical, oral, and written communication skills. Technological proficiency required. Advanced knowledge of curriculum standards, requirements, methods, processes, principles, practices, procedures, and terminology used in assigned curriculum areas. Must possess or be eligible for an Indiana Administration and Supervision certification. Must possess a valid Indiana driver's licenseESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Design and manage curriculum content, assessments, and blended learning instructional best practices to ensure alignment with state, national, and district standards and goals. Analyze data to continually improve curriculum and support departmental tasks related to curriculum development and implementation. Coordinate the development of professional learning opportunities to improve faculty skills in lesson planning, understanding content standards, implementing and creating assessments, and applying instructional strategies, including blended learning practices. Research best practices to support the development, assessment, and improvement of district curriculum and instruction. Create and develop assessments that provide actionable data to enhance curriculum effectiveness and assist in setting achievement standards. Collaborate with central office leaders, building administrators, instructional coaches, and teachers. Build and support relationships to monitor and evaluate school and classroom instruction, instructional frameworks, and curriculum components, including standards and instructional resources. Provide consultation regarding standards, requirements, principles, practices, techniques, laws, codes, regulations, initiatives, policies, procedures, and assessments. Research, analyze, and implement recommendations from international, national, state, and local content-area organizations concerning curriculum and instructional models. Assist with implementing curriculum standards, instructional strategies, and the selection of instructional materials. Monitor and evaluate the educational effectiveness of assigned curriculum areas. Develop and implement strategies and professional learning activities to enhance educational outcomes and student learning. Assist faculty and staff in preparing and developing unit and lesson designs. Provide pacing recommendations for assigned content areas and support schools and teachers in using curriculum design tools. Support the implementation of the FWCS assessment process. Monitor assessment tools, processes, and data in state-tested content areas. Provide recommendations to modify tools as needed and assist district personnel in using assessment data to guide curriculum and instructional decisions. Coordinate textbook adoption processes and/or adoption of instructional resources according to state and local guidelines. Facilitate district-wide implementation of adopted curriculum and materials, ensuring alignment with established curriculum standards. Serve as a liaison to coordinate communication, activities, and information related to assigned curriculum areas between FWCS administrators, faculty, personnel, schools, outside organizations, and the public. Provide technical support for approved curriculum development initiatives generated by schools in assigned content areas. Vet and approve instructional technology requests. Maintain current knowledge of educational methods, practices, and standards in all assigned content areas, including instructional practices related to online and blended learning. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures. Support schools with the development and implementation of school improvement plans. Compile, review, and analyze technical data and information related to assigned curriculum areas. Prepare and maintain narrative and statistical records, reports, and files related to curriculum programs and evaluations. Collaborate with central office leaders to coordinate site and classroom visits to monitor educational activities and provide guidance in assigned curriculum areas. Serve as a member of the Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Department, supporting school staff through the development, review, and revision of FWCS curriculum and resources based on IDOE requirements, student needs, and teacher feedback. Create PowerSchool course numbers as identified by the IDOE and monitor appropriate course usage. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Administrator to meet the needs of the district or department.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
