Job Description

The instructional coach will oversee implementation of best practices in literacy and math instruction that focus on state standards, address individual and local needs, and encompass a balanced literacy and math approach in all classrooms. Additionally, the instructional coach will identify and leverage resources to assist the students who are failing or at-risk of failing (Title I students), involving staff and families in the process. Provide services to Title I students, families and to staff Be involved in direct instruction with students Support teachers in developing classroom instruction that meets the needs of all students Ensure program implementation and monitor progress, adjust plans as needed Plan for parent involvement and training Participate on MTSS or Response to Instruction Team Participate in student identification process for Title I Professional Development Serve on professional development committee(s) (school & corporation) Provide professional development opportunities for staff in the form of local inservice, facilitation of conference attendance, coaching/mentoring, etc. Supports all staff with implementation of WNSC's essential literacy and math components as needed Support new teachers with reading and writing workshop implementation as needed Plan PD for & with Title I staff Avail oneself of multiple opportunities to build knowledge and understanding. Model lifelong learning and collaborative learning communities. Visioning & Planning Develop a yearly and long-range Title I plan and oversee implementation Develop yearly goals for improvement Work with principal(s) on staffing, scheduling, etc. Participate in school improvement/planning activities Participate in teacher collaboration and administrative council meetings Meet monthly with the other instructional coaches and corporation Title I coordinator to share, plan, etc. Assessment Support staff with assessment development as needed Support staff with assessment administration as needed Support staff with data analysis and using the data to inform instruction as needed Accountability/monitoring Keep all records required by the
IDOE & WNSC
Provide information for reports, grants, etc. Review progress & plans with building principal and T.I Coordinator annually, and as needed. Submit an annual report to the corporation Title I coordinator that includes student data collection and analysis. Analyze needs and consider options for meeting those needs, collaboratively, on an ongoing basis. This job description is subject to change.
