The Learning Systems Technologist collaborates with faculty, staff, and IT teams to strengthen digital teaching and learning. The role supports integration and maintenance of instructional technologies, ensures compliance with customer policies, and provides consultation, training, and technical guidance to meet diverse user needs across virtual and hybrid environments.
What you'll do
Collaborate with faculty, designers, developers, and technologists to support digital learning environments and teamwork within MS Teams. Contribute to strategic planning and evaluation of systems, applications, and delivery models for online and hybrid education. Develop training materials, deliver guidance, and provide real-time support to faculty adopting new or emerging instructional technologies. Lead multimedia projects, including video, graphic design, infographics, and web-based content development, to enhance instructional delivery. Ensure instructional quality and compliance with institutional policies and standards for learning assets and resources. Manage communication channels such as websites, blogs, and newsletters to share system updates and promote instructional resources.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required; equivalent combination of education and 4+ years of progressive experience may be considered.
5+ years of experience supporting complex digital learning projects, including instructional design, development, and delivery of online and hybrid materials. Proficiency with e-learning authoring and design tools (Articulate 360, Camtasia, Composica, etc.), multimedia production, and content development for websites, newsletters, and blogs.
Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills with experience collaborating across IT, faculty, and instructional teams in higher education environments. Expertise with Microsoft 365, MS Teams for Education, web-based tools, and familiarity with classroom technologies and multimedia equipment. Knowledge of learning theory, instructional design, micro-learning, competency-based education, and desired skills in image editing, motion graphics, audio/video production, and data visualization.
