Barber Preparatory Academy About the Team ACCEL Schools is seeking a passionate and highly qualified Library Media Specialist to join the team at Barber Preparatory Academy . Our mission is to provide every student with the resources, skills, and inspiration to succeed—both in the classroom and in life. As a Library Media Specialist, you will be at the heart of our learning community—cultivating a love of reading, supporting academic success, and integrating technology and library resources into the curriculum. You'll serve as a teacher, program manager, and instructional partner, while developing research-based practices to promote early literacy and lifelong learning. About the Opportunity In this role, you will: Prepare and deliver engaging lessons that promote reading, research, and learning Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs Organize, catalog, and maintain all library materials and resources Collaborate with teachers to integrate library skills into the curriculum Foster a welcoming, positive learning environment for all students Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress Incorporate technology to enhance learning and research skills Participate in school activities, events, and non-instructional programs as needed Collaborate effectively with colleagues and school leadership About You Active and valid Michigan teaching license with a Library Media endorsement Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field Strong communication and organizational skills Experience working in diverse, urban school settings preferred Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism Ability to supervise and support students across grade levels Must pass federal and state background checks About Us "We believe that every child should be able to be anything they want in life, regardless of their birthplace and circumstances."
