Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS
Massachusetts educator license: Supervisor/Director, Principal/Assistant Principal, or Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent. Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience. Masters Degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field. Demonstrated expertise in instructional leadership, adult learning, and curriculum development. Strong understanding of assessment, data analysis, and educational research. Proven ability to coach and support educators to improve teaching and learning outcomes.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
-The Curriculum Coordinator provides instructional leadership, ensures coherence and alignment of instructional practices, leads curriculum implementation, and supports coaching and professional learning. -The Coordinator works closely with district, building, and grade-level/department leaders to foster high-quality, equitable learning experiences for all students. I. Instructional Leadership and Educator Support Support K-12 Instructional Leaders in achieving the district-wide vision for curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Collaborate with Coaches to ensure equitable support for all grade levels and classroom teachers. Model differentiated instructional strategies that meet the needs of all learners, including gifted students, multilingual learners, and students with special needs. Facilitate cycles of instructional inquiry and reflection for continuous improvement. II.Curriculum Development and Alignment Lead the development, coordination, and evaluation of curriculum across grades K-12 to ensure coherence, rigor, and equity. Facilitate curriculum review and renewal cycles using district tools such as the equity audit framework. Oversee documentation and updates to curriculum maps, pacing guides, and course outlines. Collaborate with K-12 Instructional Leaders to identify areas for curricular enhancement and support the identification and implementation of new curriculum and course offerings. III. Assessment and Data-Driven Improvement Coordinate and analyze assessment data to identify trends and instructional priorities. Guide Instructional Leaders in using data to develop goals and action plans. Monitor student achievement, identify achievement gaps, and implement strategies to promote equity. Support the development and use of common formative and summative assessments. Present findings and recommendations to school and district leadership as appropriate. IV. Professional Learning and Collaboration Collaborate with Instructional Leaders and Coaches to plan and deliver professional development focused on instructional improvement. Build teacher capacity through modeling, mentoring, and differentiated professional development. Stay current on educational research, instructional models, and innovative practices and share findings with staff. Communicate updates, initiatives, and instructional priorities to staff clearly and effectively. Additional responsibilities as directed by the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
