STEAM Specialist - Grades K-6- Part-Time

The Position The STEAM Specialist at Jackson Walnut Park School is called to inspire curiosity, creativity, innovation, and joyful learning through engaging instruction in Robotics, Innovation, Science, Engineering, and STEM (RISES). Working both independently and collaboratively with faculty and staff, the STEAM Specialist designs meaningful, student-centered learning opportunities for whole-class, small-group, and individual instruction that foster exploration, critical thinking, problem-solving, and interdisciplinary connections. Guided by the mission and values of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston, the ideal candidate is a proactive practitioner, collaborative creative, inclusive instructor, conscious communicator, and lifelong learner who values the dignity and potential of every child. Instruction may align with the Next Generation Science Standards, Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, and/or PYP Curriculum Frameworks while cultivating students' love of science and its connections to the broader world.

Broad responsibilities include:

Design and deliver engaging STEAM instruction for students in Grades K-6. Foster a safe, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment. Implement differentiated and culturally responsive instructional strategies. Promote student inquiry, innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Support interdisciplinary and project-based learning opportunities. Collaborate with faculty, administration, and families to support student growth and engagement. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and assigned school duties. Maintain timely and accurate student records, communication, and progress reporting. Uphold and support the mission, values, and educational philosophy of Jackson Walnut Park School. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Science, Elementary Education, Middle Grades Education, or related field preferred.
• Massachusetts teaching certification preferred; alternative certification or subject-matter expertise may be considered.
• Minimum of three years of teaching experience preferred in an accredited educational setting.
• Experience with robotics, engineering, coding, innovation, or

STEM/STEAM

instruction preferred.

• Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a mission-driven school community.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching practices. Additional qualifications that are considered a plus:
• Familiarity with:

Wit & Wisdom (ELA curriculum), Wilson Foundations, Lexia Core5 Reading, enVision Mathematics

• Knowledge and implementation of best practices in student instruction and learning.
• Comfort with e ducational technology platforms, especially the Google Suite for Education
• A demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, model integrity, and consistently adhere to the school's code of conduct and professional expectations
