This role involves providing technical support and training to school personnel, overseeing the administration of the Student Information System (SIS) and Learning Management System (LMS), managing data systems, and facilitating professional development opportunities for teachers and staff. Due to an internal employee transfer, we would like the start date to be August 3, 2026. This is an on-site, part-time office position working Monday through Friday, but scheduled flexibly between 20-29 hours per week. The position is eligible for pro-rated benefits including insurance, a retirement pension and time off. This position's responsibilities include:
Technical Support:
Provide technical support and training to school personnel, programs, and students on the effective use of educational technology tools and platforms. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for LMS and SIS issues and provide end-user support on technical aspects of educational technology platforms and applications.
Data Management:
Develop, coordinate, and articulate processes and procedures for the centralized student information system. Establish standard best practices and standard operating procedures for data within the centralized SIS. Assist with the development of internal data processes and flow among student data systems; including but not limited to Canvas, Infinite Campus, NWEA, G Suite for Education, College Board, and Finalsite; create customized reports within and across systems. Responsible for data standardization in relation to internal and external reporting requirements including all State of Michigan reporting. Also responsible for data integrity in reports regarding student accounting and ongoing academic reports. Align the use of data and technology in schools to the overall mission of Catholic education. Perform day-to-day functions within the LMS such as maintaining user databases, assigning required learning modules, creating and uploading online modules, and maintaining system functions. Perform system testing for changes/updates to tech platforms. Test and integrate third-party software and content into the LMS and serve as a liaison to outside vendors as the subject matter expert on LMS functionality. Demonstrate the ability to work with confidential data and maintain confidentiality.
Professional Development and Teacher Support:
Collaborate with instructional leaders to align technology use with educational objectives and support teachers in implementing technology-enhanced instruction. Oversee the coordination, training, and management of online learning platforms and resources, and provide support for teachers in leveraging technology for instructional purposes. Coordinate and deliver initial and ongoing professional development opportunities for technology systems users, including large group training, shoulder-to-shoulder support, and virtual tutorials on adopted programs and technology integration strategies. Work collaboratively with instructional leaders to develop and implement effective support systems and training protocols for tech platform users. Proactively seek and provide recommendations on new technology, software, hardware, and equipment purchases to incorporate into the diocese's educational technology plan.
Other Responsibilities:
Works closely with instructional leaders to further the goals and objectives of the Office of Catholic Schools. Aligns the use of data and technology in schools to the overall mission of Catholic education. Assist schools with leveraging other available Diocesan technologies and services. Demonstrate the principles of continuous learning and support the learning of others. Demonstrate a commitment to the Catholic faith and uphold values in word and action. Assist the Office of Catholic Schools with all-school events throughout the year. Support initiatives and policies established by the Diocesan tech team. Qualifications We are seeking a candidate who has a Bachelor's Degree in Education or Educational Technology or related field required, with a Master's degree preferred. Three to five years' experience in a role involving interdisciplinary collaboration and technology integration in schools with knowledge of Catholic schools and their use of SIS and LMS technologies. Other knowledge, skills and abilities: Practicing Catholic and knowledge of the Catholic Church, including familiarity with its structure, function, and institutions. Ability to articulate strategy and ideas to entire school communities in a variety of formats. Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff and administrators to develop and implement uses of technology. Solutions-orientated with the ability to provide direct tech support to schools and answer tech-related tickets. Knowledge of data privacy practices and laws.
