Job Description

Literacy Lead / Instructional Coach Bultum Academy is seeking a seasoned and highly skilled teacher to serve as our Literacy Lead / Instructional Coach. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of elementary reading instruction, Minnesota academic standards, the Minnesota READ Act, literacy interventions, and the skills needed to support high-quality teaching and learning. This role is best suited for an experienced educator with a strong history of leading a well-managed, high-achieving classroom and supporting other teachers in their professional growth. The Literacy Lead / Instructional Coach will help oversee reading programs, support literacy interventions, assist with teacher development, and provide instructional guidance across the school.
Key Responsibilities:
Support and oversee schoolwide reading programs and literacy interventions. Provide coaching, feedback, and support to teachers to improve instruction. Help new teachers develop strong classroom systems, instructional practices, and lesson planning skills. Plan and lead weekly or biweekly professional development focused on improving teaching and literacy instruction. Support alignment with Minnesota reading standards and READ Act requirements. Assist with assessment planning, data review, and intervention decisions. Serve as the lead school testing coordinator and help oversee testing requirements. Work collaboratively with staff, administration, and intervention teams to improve student achievement.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong background in elementary literacy instruction. Deep understanding of Minnesota reading standards and literacy best practices. Knowledge of the Minnesota READ Act and schoolwide literacy requirements. Proven record of strong classroom management and student achievement. Experience coaching, mentoring, or supporting teachers. Ability to lead professional development and create structured teacher growth plans. Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.

$50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
